The book features a variety of original traditional Latvian patterns, including trees, flowers, animals and snowflakes. As well as mittens, there are hand and leg warmers and other wearable items such as hats, scarves and neck warmers. The book includes detailed graphic instructions to help the reader master basic mittens with braid patterns and picot knitting on the cuffs. The patterns are shown in full colour, are easy to follow and will enable the reader to create .

About the Author: Mothoko Ishikawa

Motoko was introduced to knitting at age five by her mother. After graduating in graphic design, she worked as a character designer at San-X Co., Ltd. before transitioning to freelance work as a graphic and web designer. In 2007, she discovered Latvian mittens and was immediately drawn to them. She started making mittens in 2011, producing knitted items ever since. The designer creates accessories, with a specialization in pointed-tip mittens of both her original and traditional designs. She expanded her business to include producing how-to manuals on knitting mittens and socks for handmade kit catalogs. She works with knitting needles all year round.
